Nancy Watson grew up in the 50’s and 60’s, a time of new art, music, and new influences. My love for art did not evolve until college where I signed up for a drawing class. Degrees in Art and English became the bases for 30 years of teaching. I now live in Laguna Vista, Texas about 20 minutes from the beach as well as Mexico.
The Mexican culture has influenced my love of color and I combine it with my love for the beach. Acrylics and watercolors are my preferred mediums, but I enjoy a variety of possibilities.
My paintings have been in several shows and galleries in south Texas. But recently I have been focusing on repurposing cigar and jewelry boxes using mixed medium. It is my hope that everyone has the opportunity to purchase original art for their enjoyment.
Who is Patrick Clanton?
Patrick Clanton has been involved in creative endeavors for over 47 years. While sitting with his grandmother when she was painting, he would and page through her art book lessons and marvel at the beautiful colors and line drawings, wishing that he could make art like that.
“It’s not about the money, its about the challenge of creating something that adds beauty to this world. Art is my therapy”
Continuing through the years, God’s creation has always been the inspiration for his work. With color being the impetus for the captivation of his mood and artistic direction. Always seeking higher aspirations, he branched off into three-dimensional work and today, that is what inspires him most.
His work can be found at the Laguna Art Gallery in Port Isabell Texas as well as on his website soon to be published at ,”Artisansoftexas.com”.
