Tiny dogs. Big personalities. Total chaos. Our Chihuahua Races are one of the funniest and most crowd-loved events of the weekend as these speedy little pups race for glory down the track! Cheer on your favorite four-legged competitor and see which chihuahua has what it takes to become the fastest dog in the fiesta.
Important: All race participants must be pre-registered before the event. Day-of signups will not be allowed, so make sure to register your chihuahua early to secure their spot at the starting line! ⚠️
Tamale Eating Contest – Fri. – Sun.
Get ready to loosen that belt buckle and bring your appetite! Our Tamale Eating Contest is a fast-paced showdown to see who can devour the most tamales before time runs out. Expect big laughs, fierce competition, and serious fiesta energy as contestants battle for prizes, glory, and the title of ultimate tamale champion. Come hungry… leave legendary.

Think you’ve got accuracy, power, and true abuela energy? Step up and compete in our hilarious Chancla Throwing Contest! Contestants will battle it out to see who can throw a chancla the farthest and most accurately for prizes, bragging rights, and nonstop laughs. It’s fun, family-friendly chaos with a little Tejano flair mixed in. Just remember… dodge fast if grandma enters the competition.

Don’t miss Fiesta Smash Hour, one of the wildest and most fun traditions at Fiesta en la Playa! Every few hours, kids and adults will get their shot at smashing colorful piñatas packed with surprises.
